Ferrick Mason Party

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011

Last night we went to the beautiful home of Blair Voltz Clarke to celebrate with our friends from Ferrick Mason. Brian Ferrick and Alex Mason are in town to show off some of their new screen printed fabrics. We adore their collection almost as much as we adore them!!!

Blair represents an amazing group of artists! Check out the martini glass chandelier by Michael Marra in some of the photos below. The lovely Alex Kinkead Mason’s art is also represented through Voltz Clarke LLC.

Many thanks to Blair for being such a gracious hostess!! We had a blast!

Jenny Dyer in Elle Decor

Friday, September 23rd, 2011

One of my favorite things about my job is seeing what Studio Four’s amazing clients do with our products.

A little over two years ago, I met with the talented and lovely designer Jenny Dyer in the apartment she shares with her boyfriend, Andrew Rosen. Jenny and Andrew have the most incredible apartment near Columbus Circle. Rosen is the founder of Theory and has created a fashion empire which includes brands such as Proenza Schouler, Rag & Bone, and Helmut Lang. Their home, like these fashion brands, is downtown cool mixed with sophisticated simplicity.

Jenny had decided on the perfect rugs for their home and we were meeting to nail down the color. I remember Jenny giving me a tiny paint chip from the apartment’s concrete floors for us to use as a color match sample when dying the rugs. I sent the paint chip off to our mill in Guatemala so they could make four linen sample options for us. One of the samples was a perfect match, and the yarns were put on the looms for weaving. A couple of months later I saw the rugs and thought they were stunning. But then I had the privilege of actually seeing them installed in Jenny and Andrew’s apartment, and I was blown away by how fabulous they looked in the setting. Below are a few photos from a feature on Jenny and Andrew’s apartment in this month’s Elle Decor. The issue is still on news stands, so be sure to pick it up to see more photos of their beautiful home!

Summer is gone but not forgotten!

Tuesday, September 13th, 2011

The last few weeks of summer seemed to have disappeared before our eyes here at Studio Four. I went down to South Carolina for one last summer visit with my family, and Stacy has jetted off to Paris for the GIANT Maison et Objet trade show (I do love my native state but I think Stacy may have taken the more glamorous journey here). So needless to say I have fallen a little bit behind with the S4 blog. But the good news is that we have tons of fabulous new things on the way to the showroom!

I recently saw these colorful new rugs and could not resist bringing them into the studio four rug collection. I guess it was the vivid colors that really sold me, and maybe I am just a little sad to say goodbye to the bright colors of summer. But aren’t these rugs AMAZING! We are very excited for the full set of samples to arrive.

I can’t wait for Stacy to get back on Wednesday so she can show me all of her photos from Paris and Maison et Objet. Flo is also pretty excited to get her mama back!
