Detail of a hand-woven cotton fabric in an intricate stripe pattern in shades of brown, tan and pink.

Kudoog Woven

Designed and woven by women in Ghana, West Africa. 20% of profits return to local Ghana community.

This pattern depicts brown earthenware cauldrons called ‘kudoog' as they sit atop glowing charcoal embers, while women create the daily meal from fermented maize and cassava. Groundnut stew, or perhaps wilted leaves, will often accompany the dish that will be eaten at the end of the day.
