Hilltop Woven

Designed and woven by women in Ghana, West Africa. 20% of profits return to local Ghana community.

To build food supplies, yams are cut into small pieces and left indoors to sprout (like an old potato). Once the leaves appear, they are transferred outside to small mounds of dirt to allow the yams to grow until harvest time. Across the Dagaaba region in Ghana, you’ll see many small fields with rows and rows of these little foot-high mounds filled with growing yams.
